Having the Oregon Ducks at 30:1 odds to win the National Title last season, only to be let down by a botched tackle late in the fourth quarter which set up the game winning field goal. The wager was placed in late July, five weeks before the college football season started.

Taking the Texas Rangers early in the season to win the 2010 World Series at 15:1 odds. That team had great pitching and they were playing so hot, only to see them lay an egg against the San Francisco Giants in the series that meant the most.
